Brigitte Kingsley is an Executive Producer, Producer and Actress. She is best known for her role as the Warrior Princess Summer Vale in the Dark Rising films and television series, which earned her two Canadian Comedy Award nominations. She has produced four feature films and two television series including all the Dark Rising projects. Brigitte was president of the Canadian film production company Black Walk for six years and also ran its distribution division Decade Distribution. She resigned in 2012 to start Good Soldier Films with long time business partner Andrew Cymek.

Andrew Cymek is an Executive Producer, Writer and Director. He is the creator of the Dark Rising Franchise, comprised of two feature films and two television series, which Cymek wrote, directed and edited. Andrew is also the owner of Defiant Empire and the writer, director and star of the action-thrillers Medium Raw: Night of the Wolf and Night Cries. Top distributors including Eone, Anchor Bay and Mar Vista have released his projects around the world. In 2010, Andrew won the Northern Lights Award from the Alaska International Film Festival for Medium Raw and has been nominated for several Canadian Comedy Awards for Dark Rising. His latest movie Country Crush can be seen on Netflix.

Jim Peacock has been in the film industry for over 30 years specializing in Special FX, Prop building, Art Direction and Production Designing. He has worked on countless projects including the Incredible Hulk, Saw V, Medium Raw and many more. Jim is the owner of The Peacock Studio which has been operating for almost 20 years and offers numerous services including sculpting, welding, costume and creature construction, specialty weapons construction, prop rentals and more.

Brigitte Kingsley has produced four feature films, two television series and one feature documentary. She began her career as an actor, guest starring in television shows and films such as Student Bodies, Psi Factor, Top Cops and Frequency. She became the “hostess with the mostess” on the television series Game Nation for 4 seasons as host Suki Diefenbaker and one of the leads of Much Music’s Screwed Over.
Shortly after graduating from York University with her Bachelor of Fine Arts, Brigitte Kingsley launched a production company Defiant Empire Corporation with business partner Andrew Cymek. She produced a series of short films before producing and starring in her first feature film Dark Rising in 2006 also starring WWE wrestling superstar Jay “Christian” Reso. The low-budget indie feature was released through Universal Vivendi in 2007 and was nominated for 6 Canadian Comedy Awards in 2008 for Best Writing, Directing, Male Performance and Best Female Performance, which Brigitte earned for her role as the lead character “Summer Vale”. It was later released in the US and internationally through E1 and subsequently expanded into a sequel Dark Rising 2: Summer Strikes Back! and the television series The Savage Tales of Summer Vale both released in 2011 on Super Channel and acquired by Cinemavault for International sales and by MarVista for the US.
In 2008, Brigitte Kingsley became president of Black Walk, a production company that is best known for their clever comedic features including the 2005 TIFF Favorite and Independent Spirit Award Winner Phil the Alien and the sci-fi Dark Rising Franchise. In 2010, she completed her third feature film Medium Raw: Night of the Wolf, an action-thriller starring John Rhys Davies (Lord of the Rings), William B. Davies (X-Files), Mercedes McNab (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and Jay Reso (WWE) which was released in August 2011 through Anchor Bay Canada, US, UK and Australia. In 2011, she took on the responsibility of Decade Distribution in order to increase her knowledge in the sales and distribution side of film and also shot her first Telefilm supported feature film “Two Hands to Mouth” written and directed by Michael DeCarlo – an official selection of the Madrid International Film Festival. In 2012, she was nominated for another Canadian Comedy Award for her role as Summer Vale in Dark Rising 2: Summer Strikes Back! as well as starred and co-executive produced the fourth Dark Rising project: Warrior of Worlds (also starring Colin Mochrie, Peter Outerbridge and Scott Thompson). Recently, Brigitte left Black Walk to start Good Soldier Films with Andrew Cymek. She is currently in development on two feature films and in post-production on the feature documentary “BLES the Elephants”, a story about Elephant abuse in Thailand
Brigitte Kingsley is Chair of the Board of directors for Canadore College’s Television/Video Production and Digital Cinematography program and she can be seen acting in the hidden camera series Scare Tactics season 4 & 5 on Syfy (US) and MTV (Canada).
Andrew Cymek is the creator and award nominated director of the internationally released Dark Rising franchise. He has directed 7 feature films and 2 television series to date and has been cinematographer on two feature films and one television series. He is president of the production company Good Soldier Films and executive producer of several recent projects. In 2006, Cymek wrote and directed his first feature film entitled Dark Rising which was the launching pad for the Dark Rising Brand. The film was released in Canada through Universal Vivendi and in the US and world through EOne. The feature film earned him 2 Canadian Comedy Award Nominations for Best Writer and Best Director and 4 nominations for hisactors in 2008 and another 2 nominations in 2012 for Dark Rising 2. Dark Rising’s success triggered a sequel and 2 television projects.
Andrew also wrote, directed and edited the action-thriller Medium Raw: Night of the Wolf starring John-Rhys Davies (Lord of the Rings) and William B. Davies (X-Files) which was released in August 2011 through Anchor Bay Canada, US, UK, Australia, New Zealand and Ireland. Medium Raw won the Northern Lights Award at the Alaska International Film Festival in 2010 and is available in a number of other territories across the world including Thailand, Singapore and the Middle East. His third feature film, Dark Rising: Agency of Vengeance, which Cymek wrote, directed, edited and was cinematographer on stars Michael Ironside and was released in 2010 through Universal Vivendi / Eone domestically and in 2014 by MarVista in the US.
Andrew wrote, directed, edited and was cinematographer on the television series Dark Rising: The Savage Tales of Summer Vale (released in 2011 on Super Channel) and wrote, directed and edited Dark Rising: Warrior of Worlds (MarVista) released in 2015. Warrior of Worlds stars an incredible cast including Colin Mochrie (Who’s Line is it Anyway?), Scott Thompson (Kids in the Hall), Peter Outerbridge (ReGenesis), Brian Krause (Charmed), Jeremy London (Party of Five), Art Hindle (Face-off) and Angelina Love (TNA Wrestling).
Cymek just released the psychological thriller Night Cries and the country-musical Country Crush starring Sophie Tweed-Simmons (of KISS fame) and Jana Kramer (One Tree Hill). The later won Best of the Festival, Audience Choice Award and Best Narrative film at the Desert Rocks Film and Music Festival in Hesperia, CA. He has just finished work on the thriller A Deadly View and the romance Autumn’s Stables.
Andrew is also on the Board of directors for Canadore College’s Television / Video Production and Digital Cinematography program.
